Head Race Skis

Head race skis, including the Rebel and WCR junior and team models. Choosing a race ski comes down to three numbers, and they are set by rules as much as preference.

Length, radius and profile width all have minimums and maximums that vary by age class and discipline. A U16 GS ski has a 17 m minimum radius and a 188 cm maximum length; Super-G and downhill differ again. Buying outside those numbers means an athlete cannot start.

Within the rules, a junior should be on a ski they can bend. A stiff adult-construction ski in the right length is still the wrong ski for a lighter racer.
