Ski Bags

A ski bag has two jobs: protecting edges and bases in transit, and making it possible to carry two pairs, poles and a tuning kit in one trip.

Choose by how you travel. Single and double bags are light and cheap, and right for driving to the hill. Burrito bags wrap skis in padding and hold two or three pairs — the usual choice for a racer with GS and SL skis. Roller bags earn their weight in airports.

Two details worth checking: internal length against your longest ski, and whether the bag is padded or just a sleeve. An unpadded bag protects against scratches, not against baggage handlers.
