Wax Irons & Accessories

A waxing iron is not a clothes iron. The difference is temperature stability: a household iron cycles its element on and off through a wide swing, and the peaks scorch bases. A waxing iron holds a set temperature within a couple of degrees, which is what lets wax soak in instead of burning on the surface.

Look for a thick base plate, which stores heat and evens out the cycling, and a digital display if you work across several wax types with different melting points.

Keep the iron moving and never let it sit still on the base. Most base burns happen in the last pass, when attention drops.
