Offset-blade snips for a fitting bench. The offset is the useful part — it keeps your hand above the material instead of in line with it, so you can cut flat against a surface and see what you are doing.
- Offset stainless steel blades
- Keeps hands above the material while cutting
- Cuts a variety of workshop materials
What they are for: trimming footbeds, shaping pads and shims, cutting liner material and the general trimming that makes up most boot work. A pad cut with scissors leaves a ragged edge the foot eventually finds; clean shears leave an edge that sits flat.
Stainless matters in a boot room, which is a damp environment — tools live near wet liners and carbon steel rusts.
Keep them for boot work. Snips used on wire or metal come back with nicked blades, and a nicked blade tears foam instead of cutting it.
