A coach's glove rather than a racer's. The difference matters: a coach stands on a hill in the cold for hours, sets gates with wet hands, and needs warmth and waterproofing more than they need a thin palm for pole feel.
That is why this one has a GORE-TEX membrane where a pure race glove does not. Setting slalom in wet spring snow will soak an unlined race glove in an hour.
- Goat leather palm with a waterproof GORE-TEX membrane
- Ceramic-reinforced EVA finger pads and extended soft padding
- Large LEKI Flex Panel for mobility without losing protection
- Hyperloft and Thinsulate insulation for sub-zero conditions
- Trigger S system for quick, secure pole engagement
It still carries real gate protection, so it works for training runs as well as coaching — a useful thing if you are a coach who also free-skis, or a parent doing both jobs on a race weekend.
Check your poles. The Trigger S system clips straight into Trigger-compatible poles with no strap to wrap, and releases in a fall. On other poles it works as an ordinary glove, so you would be paying for a feature you cannot use.
For athletes taking direct gate contact all day, a dedicated slalom glove with full 3D back padding is the better choice — see our race gloves. For standing on a hill in February, this is the one.
