Before You Order
Measure against what you actually carry. Sixty litres takes boots, a helmet, a suit and armour without forcing the zip, but it is a boot bag and not a ski bag, so skis and poles still travel separately. If your racer only ever carries boots and a helmet, a smaller boot pack is less bag to haul across the lot.
Why Racers Carry This Much
Race-day kit adds up faster than people expect: helmet, back protector, shin and forearm guards, gloves, a suit, a warm layer for the start, and boots that have to arrive dry. Carrying it on your back with a sternum strap taking some of the load leaves both hands free for skis and poles, which is the whole point at seven in the morning on an icy parking lot.

The name card holder on the back is not a throwaway detail. At a race where thirty identical team bags end up in the same pile outside the lodge, a filled-in card is what stops yours going home with somebody else.
