Slalom punishes the lower leg more than any other discipline. Every gate you cross-block sends the panel into your shin, and over a training block that adds up to hundreds of hits. The Rossignol Hero shin guard is what stands between that and a racer who's flinching by the third run.
The shell is high-impact polyamide, chosen because it spreads a gate strike across the whole panel rather than transmitting it at the point of contact. Behind it sits dual-density padding — a firmer layer to absorb the hit, a softer one against the leg so the guard stays wearable through a full session.
The wrap is shaped to the contour of the lower leg rather than sitting flat, which is what keeps it from rotating around the calf mid-run. Hook-and-loop straps let a racer cinch them over a suit in the start gate and pull them off in the lodge without unlacing boots.
Three sizes cover the range from young racers through adults: Junior at 12 inches, Adult Medium at 14, Adult Large at 15.5. Measure from just below the knee to the top of the boot cuff, and size to what the guard needs to cover rather than to the athlete's age.
