A two-point economy vise with a rubber friction grip and adjustable tilt — the entry point to holding a ski properly.
- Two-point vise system
- Rubber friction clamping
- Adjustable tilt angles for side edge work
The tilt is what makes edge work possible. Held flat, a side edge sits at an awkward angle to your hands and you compensate with the tool — which is where inconsistent bevels come from. Tilting the ski presents the edge properly so the guide does the work.
Two points or three? Two holds the ski; a third support at the opposite end stops it twisting under a file. For waxing and light edge work two is adequate. For serious edge work, a three-piece set holds far more steadily.
Rubber friction rather than jaws means it grips without clamping pressure on the ski, which is gentler on a race ski's sidewall — but check it holds firmly before leaning into a file.
