Bend is what makes this a GS pole. The curve wraps the hands in close and keeps the tips clear of the body in a tuck. The larger the turn, the more bend and length you want — which is why a GS pole runs longer than the same athlete's slalom pole, and Super-G longer again.
The adapter cap is more useful than it sounds. Gate guards mount to it for training days, and a GoPro mount turns a pole into a camera boom for video analysis — something most coaches end up wanting and few poles support natively.
Trigger-compatible gloves are required to use the click-in system. On ordinary gloves these work as normal poles, so you would be paying for a feature you cannot use.
