The gallon of Wax Buster — the shop, race-room or team size, for anyone cleaning bases in volume.
- Petroleum-based wax solvent
- Removes old, dirty wax from alpine and Nordic bases
- Non-toxic and non-hazardous
- 1 gallon
Buying in volume makes sense at the start and end of a season, which is when cleaning happens: stripping storage wax off a team's skis in November, and cleaning spring grit out before summer storage. Between those, most bases should be hot scraped rather than solvent cleaned.
Cleaner dries a base. It removes wax from inside the structure as well as on the surface, so always follow with several cycles of soft wax — a cleaned base left unwaxed oxidises quickly and is harder to recover than one that was merely dirty.
For a race room: decant into a smaller bottle for the bench. Working from a gallon over a ski is how bases get flooded and floors get slippery.
The 16oz bottle is the home size. See base cleaner and conditioner and ski wax for the re-waxing after.
