A liquid applied before your glide wax rather than instead of it — base preparation in a bottle, for people without the time or bench for repeated hot-wax cycles.
The solvent carries the wax into the base and evaporates, leaving a thin protective layer that helps the next wax adhere and stops an unprotected base oxidising between tunes.

Where it genuinely helps: protecting a base between uses, preparing skis quickly at a race, and on a fleet or a family's skis where hot-waxing everything is not realistic.
What it does not replace: the saturation that repeated hot waxing gives a new or dried-out base. For a new pair, or one that has just been ground, cycles of BP77 will do more.
