Bristle diameter is the specification to note. At 0.25 mm these are fine steel bristles — they reach into structure and clean it without cutting new structure the way a coarse steel brush does. That makes this usable after scraping rather than only for base restoration.
The horsehair edge is not decoration. Steel generates static, and static holds fine wax dust against the base. The natural bristle around the perimeter clears that as you work, so the base finishes genuinely clean.
Still follow with nylon for a race finish. Steel and horsehair together get you most of the way; a soft nylon polish is the last few percent.
