Boot Fitting

More races are lost to a badly fitted boot than to a bad wax job. A boot that is too big lets the foot move, so every input arrives late; one that is too tight cuts circulation and leaves the foot cold and numb.

Most fit problems come down to three things: volume around the ankle and instep, alignment of the cuff and the ski underfoot, and ramp and delta — how far forward the boot puts you. The supplies here address all three: footbeds and liners for volume, booster straps for cuff closure, risers and canting shims for alignment.

Heel lift is the most common complaint and is usually a volume problem around the ankle, not a length problem.

See ZipFit liners and youth race boots. Boot work itself is best left to a bootfitter. We supply the pads, shims, plates and tools rather than doing the fitting.
