SVST Radial Blue Nylon Stiff Brush

This is the first brush of the sequence — the one that comes off the bench immediately after scraping, to take out the wax a scraper could not reach.

Stiff nylon is the right material for that job. It is aggressive enough to clear wax from the structure but will not scratch a base the way a steel brush can if you lean on it, which makes it the safe brush to start with.

The SVST radial hand brush sequence, coarse to fine:

• Blue nylon stiff — initial wax removal (this brush)
• Brass-horsehair combi — structure cleaning with an anti-static finish
• Horsehair 9 mm — final polishing, overlays and additives

Technique matters more than pressure. Work tip to tail, one direction, light pressure, many passes. Leaning on a brush wears the bristles without clearing more wax — it is the bristle tips that work, not the force behind them.
