The 10 inch Superchrome — same hard-chromed Austrian file as the 12 inch, in the shorter length.
Rockwell 67 is the number that matters. Ski edges have got harder over the years, and a softer file glazes the edge instead of cutting it. Chroming adds durability and makes the stroke smoother.
- Hard-chromed for durability and smooth cutting action
- Handcrafted Austrian design
- Rockwell hardness 67
- 10 inch length
Why choose the 10 inch: it is easier to control, lighter in the hand for long sessions, and fits in a travel tuning kit where a 12 inch file will not. The longer file spans more edge per stroke and holds the angle better on a bench, so many tuners own both — 12 at home, 10 on the road.
Look after it. Files cut on the forward stroke only; dragging them back dulls the teeth. Clean with a file card, and store so the faces do not knock against other tools.
Use in a bevel guide and finish with stones.

SVST Superchrome fine 10"
I heard about this product on a YouTube channel, sorry I can't remember the guy's channel, and it was recommended for sharpening axes. He swore by them, so gave it a shot. So far I have been well pleased by the customer service and the product.

Superchrome 10”
I bought this file for reprofiling axe heads. It seems to remove metal about two to three times as fast as the Nicholson files I can get at big box stores.

Super Chrome 10" file
I work with many edged tools so they require frequent sharpening and am currently in the middle of a vintage axe restoration And this file is the cream of the crop. Sharpening tools by hand is an art and this file makes it easy,BUY IT.

SVST Superchrome File 10"
This file is superb. IMO it was worth the price. I added a wooden handle, which I felt was needed to help in control, and for safety.
