Blue Ultra in a 2.5oz bar, covering 10°F to 22°F — cold mornings and most of mid-winter.
- Premium hydrocarbon wax with glide additives
- Air temperature range: 10°F to 22°F
- 2.5oz bar
The Ultra range by air temperature: Violet −10 to 5°F · Blue 10–22°F · Red 23–36°F · Yellow 36–50°F · Universal 10–35°F.
A 2.5oz bar is a few applications, which makes it the sensible way to try a temperature before committing, or to carry a spare in a travel kit. For the wax you use most nights, the 10oz bar costs far less per gram.
Waxing often with an inexpensive wax beats waxing rarely with an expensive one. Keeping the base saturated is what keeps a ski fast across a season.

Humidity matters as well as temperature. The ranges above assume typical conditions; on a damp day at the warm end of a range, the next wax down often runs better. When two waxes look equally plausible, the colder and harder one is the safer choice — it is slightly slow if wrong, where a too-soft wax picks up dirt and is considerably slow.
