A slalom race pole in bend-resistant 7075 aluminium — the alloy grade that matters, because a slalom pole's job description includes being hit several hundred times a day.

Slalom poles run shorter than GS or Super-G poles for the same athlete, and are straighter. To size: turn the pole upside down, grip under the basket with the tip on the floor, and look for roughly a right angle at the elbow.
You will need guards. Slalom means clearing every gate with your hands, and an unguarded pole plus a knuckle is a bad combination — see pole guards.
Aluminium or carbon? Aluminium bends where carbon can snap, and is cheaper to replace — the sensible choice for most racers and for anyone hard on equipment. The Carbon WC Pro is lighter with lower swing weight, which is worth having at a level where that matters.
