Aluminium is the right material here. A junior does not generate the loads that justify carbon, and aluminium bends where carbon breaks — which matters when the pole is going to take abuse well beyond skiing.
Sizing, and the temptation to buy long: grip the pole upside down under the basket with the tip on the floor and look for about a right angle at the elbow. Resist sizing up to last two seasons — an oversized pole teaches a poor pole plant, and that habit outlasts the pole.
