Full-face hand guards sized for young racers, mounting to the pole grip to deflect gates away from the hands.
- Full-face design
- Mounts directly to the pole grip
- Developed with input from World Cup athletes
- For junior slalom and GS training
Juniors need these at least as much as adults. A young racer takes the same number of gate hits in a training session with less hand mass to absorb them, and a child who has been hurt clearing gates starts avoiding the line — which costs far more than a set of guards.
Guards and gloves do different jobs. The guard deflects the gate before it reaches the hand; an armoured glove absorbs what gets through. Slalom racers run both.
Check they fit your poles. Guards mount to the grip, and grip shapes vary between brands. A guard that does not seat properly rotates on impact and ends up somewhere other than between the gate and the hand.
Adult sizes: Swix pole guards. See all pole guards and junior race gloves.
