Choosing a Grit
Use non-abrasive pads for buffing wax and polishing, extra fine grit for light defuzzing, and general purpose pads for heavier cleanup. Keep separate pads for base and top sheet work.
Why Every Bench Needs Them
Stone grinding and filing can leave tiny hairs of base material that slow skis down. A few passes with a nylon pad clean them up. The same pads are handy for polishing wax, cleaning up edges and removing marks on top sheets, which is why they stay in tuning kits year after year.
